How much time do I need to be able to communicate in German? How quickly you progress depends on both which course you decide on as well as your personal motivation and amount of practice outside of the classroom. The basics of German courses for beginners Hamburg will be covered in our A-level courses — A1 and A2. After completion of the A-levels you will already be able to converse about simple daily topics. At this stage, naturally you will still make some grammar mistakes. After finishing the B-levels, you will be able to speak about more complex topics as well as communicate more fluently. By this point, the German language already has become a major aspect of your daily life. By the C-levels you are entering the advanced stage. With a C1 level, you can apply to most universities for programs taught in German. In the figure below, you can see the amounts of time required to complete the levels whether you take an Intensive German Course, Super-Intensive German Course or Evening German Course.
What is the meaning of A1.1+? If you decide to participate in an Evening German Course for beginners, you will encounter the level A1.1+. The “+” behind the level indicates that it is the second half of the level, meaning A1.1+ is the second part of the A1.1 level. If you have never learned any German before you should go for the A1.1 evening course (the one without the “+”), as this is the very first class.
