Which telc level is right for me?

The telc exam levels available at speakeasy Hamburg are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Speakeasy offers telc exams for the levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C1 Hochschule. Therefore, you have the chance to take telc language exams that fit your individual needs and set requirements.

What level of knowledge do I need for the telc Deutsch A1 language exam?

You should have had a total of approximately 100 teaching units of German at this point. With this you should be able to understand basic everyday conversations and exchange information about where you come from and what your hobbies are. At this stage grammar is not of great importance.

What is the structure of the telc Deutsch A1 exam?

The telc Deutsch A2 exam is suitable for anyone who has completed approximately 250–300 teaching hours. At this level, you should be able to communicate in typical everyday situations and hold short conversations – for example, in a work context or while shopping. Additionally, you should be able to use basic grammatical structures correctly.

What Skills Do I Need for the telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege Language Exam?

The telc Deutsch B1·B2 Pflege exam is specifically designed for individuals working in the healthcare sector or planning to pursue a career in this field in a German-speaking country. It provides healthcare professionals with the opportunity to officially certify their job-related German language skills at levels B1 and B2 – an essential requirement for employment in hospitals, care facilities, or other healthcare services.

This is a dual-level exam, meaning it assesses language skills at both B1 and B2 levels simultaneously. The exam is ideal for those whose language proficiency lies between these two levels or for individuals who are progressing toward the higher level but have not yet achieved full confidence.

Important: Partial exams are not possible. This means that if one part of the exam is not passed, the entire exam must be retaken, even if one section has already been successfully completed.

What level of knowledge do I need for the telc Deutsch B2 language exam?

The telc German B2 exam is right for you if you want to prove with a certificate that your German knowledge is advanced. At B2 level you are well-equipped to be understood at work. Many universities will accept you for study if you can verify that you have a B2 level. Should you want to study the subject Germanistik outside of Germany, B2 is the usual requirement. You should, of course, ask the university to explain what language requirements they have for the subject you wish to study.

The telc C1 exam will serve to prove a very advanced knowledge of German. Employers, for example, will often ask for proof of a C1 certificate. Please be aware that the required document for application to German university is the telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule.

At C1 level speaking German comes easily to you, you can hold detailed conversations and at times are able to use German idiomatic expressions. German grammar is no longer a big problem for you, and you make very few mistakes.
