telc Deutsch B2/C1 Medizin is an exam for those of you who have general knowledge of German as well as specific knowledge of medical vocabulary. telc Deutsch B2/C1 Medizin is different from other telc exams as it focusses on the vocabulary necessary for working in a hospital or a clinic.
Your knowledge of vocabulary and grammatical structures is at a high level of B2 or at the start of C1. At the level telc Deutsch B2/C1 Medizin you can express your opinion on many different topics clearly and in detail. The main content of complex texts as well as abstract topics are no longer a challenge for you, and due to your advanced knowledge of German, you can talk about as well as understand a deep complexity in your area of expertise. You can have conversations with native speakers without much effort, especially on medical topics.
telc Deutsch B2/C1 Medizin is the right exam for doctors who have achieved their degree in countries other than Germany. For all doctors who wish to apply for their medical license in the federal states of Hesse, Thuringia, Saarland, and Schleswig-Holstein, this exam serves as proof of your language skills when being granted your medical license (effective: July 2017).
The price for the exam is available here. This price applies to all registrations completed at least 30 days prior to the exam. If you register later than 30 days before the exam date, a late registration fee of 30€ applies.
The exact dates and prices can be found in our summary here. The exam day is usually a Friday and you can take both parts of the exams (oral and written) on the same day. The results are usually available after approx. six weeks.

The exam has two parts: the written part takes three hours and checks your reading and
listening comprehension as well as your writing. After the exam has been corrected, you will
find out in which areas you reached B2 and in which areas you reached a C1 level.
Before your oral exam you will have 10 minutes to prepare for it. After the first part of
the oral exam, which is related to taking a patient’s medical record, you will have another
interim period of 5 minutes. The oral exam focusses on your speaking and takes places on the
same day as the written exam or can take place on another day.
